Monday Music – Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog

Good morning all.

I hope that you are all well and had a lovely weekend. It is start of a fresh week and one that hopefully will be full of fun and laughter.

The last couple of posts have been dedicated to  a book and a film, so I thought why not offer a music recommendation. That is in the form of a Sing along blog.

From the minds of the brilliant Joss Whedon, Zack Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon and starring the charismatic Neil Patrick Harris, the brilliant Nathan Fillion, pretty and lovely Felicia Day and the hilarious Simon Helberg, this is one Music extravaganza not to miss.

It is a musical, comedy and drama all wound into one which is split into three separate acts. I purchased the whole lot via iTunes and watched them in one sitting (around 45 minutes in total) and loved every glorious minute of it. As a fan of musicals, this displayed everything.

If you are a fan of this type of entertainment or not, I truly recommend checking this out. It’s fun, it’s thrilling, it’s glorious. The acting can be seen over the top but that is to be expected with characters as such on display.

The story is about a wannabe Super-villain, Dr. Horrible, who has an interest in a pretty young do gooder called Penny, a dislike for his arch nemesis Captain Hammer, who also has his eye on the girl, and a desire to join the Evil League of Evil. Add in Moist and the Bad Horse chorus group and you have a riot.

With great songs such as ‘A man’s gotta do’, ‘Brand New Day’ and ‘Everyone’s a hero’ to name a few, you could easily have these stuck in your mind for time to come.

I hope you check this out and enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you for reading.
